■ PNG revisited
We have made a revision of the PNG file format (Portable Network Graphics).
All graphics programs are able to save in PNG format, including PaintShop Pro, Irfanview, Microsoft Paint, etc..
The benefits of PNG over JPG are tremendous:
- smaller file size (usually around 5 times better compression than JPG)
- faster loading times
- no quality loss
- transparency (most browsers have supported this for years, and IE7 will also support this).
- no hazzling with compression mode and ratio (even PNG max compression causes no quality loss)
- ability to save PNG as ASCII also (default is binary), if you cannot attach files in e-mail, or web pages.
